The National Highway Authority (NHA) is an entity under the Ministry of Communications in Pakistan responsible for the development and maintenance of national highways and strategic roads. The Khyber Pass Economic Corridor (KPEC) is one of NHA’s major projects aimed at enhancing economic activity in the region by facilitating trade routes between Pakistan and Afghanistan. This project also includes environmental oversight, for which an Environmental Specialist will be hired to ensure sustainable development and compliance with environmental standards.

General Terms and Conditions
- Eligibility and Qualification: Only qualified and experienced candidates who meet the criteria outlined in the Terms of Reference (TOR) are eligible to apply. TOR, Qualification, and Experience Criteria documents are available for download from the NHA website (www.nha.gov.pk).
- Application Submission: Candidates must submit their applications using the Application Template available on the NHA website. The application, along with all required documents, must be complete in all respects.
- Selection Process: The selection of the Environmental Specialist will be done on a competitive basis, following the guidelines of the World Bank Procurement Regulations for Investment Project Financing. This includes assessing the qualifications and experience of applicants in line with World Bank standards.
- Contract Duration: The position is on a contractual basis, with a contract duration of two (02) years.
- Deadline for Application Submission: The last date for submitting applications is December 6, 2024, by 11:30 AM (PST). Late applications will not be considered.
- Application Opening: All applications received by the deadline will be opened on the same day at 12:00 PM (PST) at NHA Headquarters, Islamabad.
