District Disaster Management Coordinator

The Office of the Deputy Commissioner/Chairman DDMA in Rawalpindi has announced a vacancy for the position of District Disaster Management Coordinator (DDMC)/Consultant. This is a contractual position for a period of six months, targeting professionals with a background in disaster management and related fields. The selected candidate will be stationed in Rawalpindi and must fulfill the eligibility criteria set by the government, including specific qualifications and relevant experience.

The job requires candidates to have a master’s degree in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Agriculture, Disaster Management, Rural Development, or Urban Development. Here is the Basic Eligibility Criteria for appointment of

• MBA/MPA Master in Social Sciences/Civil Engineer/Computer Science/Agriculture/Disaster Management/Rural Development/Urban Development of equivalent qualification.
• Hands-on computer proficiency in using computer desktop application MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Post qualification experience of 03 years in Disaster Management.
• Preference will be given to candidates having work experience with public/private sector/UN Agencies.
• Should have adequate knowledge of multi-hazard vulnerability risk assessment and disaster risk reduction strategy, national and global framework on disaster risk reduction.
• Knowledge and experience of utilizing GIS tools for hazard mapping, disaster modeling, early warning systems, and development of disaster response action plans, disaster information management systems and contingency planning, etc.
• Should be capable of handling NSR projects of GoP or any donor.
• Should have experience of handling field surveys/FGDs.
