The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) is one of Pakistan’s most prominent public sector organizations responsible for the management of water and hydropower resources in the country. WAPDA is particularly known for its large-scale projects such as the Tarbela Dam, one of the largest earth-filled dams in the world. These positions are based at the Chief Engineer (Power) office in Tarbela, which is part of WAPDA’s efforts to maintain and optimize its hydroelectric power generation capabilities.

General Terms and Conditions

• General Age Relaxation:
• General age relaxation of five years has already been included in the age limits for all posts.
• Additional age relaxation will be given as per government policy to candidates belonging to specific areas or backgrounds (e.g., Scheduled Castes, Buddhist Communities, and other prescribed categories).
• The upper age limit is further relaxable for WAPDA employees, and those dismissed or retired from government service due to reasons other than misconduct or inefficiency.
• Application Process:
• Only those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria should apply through the proper channel.
• Candidates employed in government service should apply through their respective department after obtaining the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC).
• Candidates are required to produce original documents at the time of the interview.
• WAPDA reserves the right to withhold or cancel the recruitment process at any stage without assigning any reason.
• Incomplete or applications received after the due date will not be considered.
• Recruitment Process:
• Selection will be made purely on merit.
• Only shortlisted candidates will be called for tests/interviews.
• The candidates who have been terminated from any government service are ineligible to apply.
• No TA/DA will be admissible for test/interview.
• Provincial Quota:
• The vacancies are distributed based on regional quotas for Punjab, KPK, Sindh, and Balochistan.
• Each province has a designated number of vacancies under the open merit system or specific quotas.
• Skills and Experience:
• For technical positions, a proficiency or skill test will be mandatory.
• Candidates must have the required experience mentioned for each post. Experience in relevant fields like power plants, mechanical or electrical workshops will be given preference.
• Submission of Documents:
• After applying online, candidates should submit the hard copy of the application along with attested copies of relevant documents.
• Candidates are required to attach a valid CNIC, domicile certificate, academic qualifications, and experience certificates.
• Submission of incorrect or forged documents will result in immediate disqualification.
• Reserved Rights:
• WAPDA reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts or cancel the recruitment at any stage without notice.
• Discrepancies in the details or failure to meet the eligibility criteria will result in disqualification.
• Other Conditions:
• Candidates dismissed from any government service due to disciplinary action are ineligible to apply.
• The candidates must follow WAPDA’s probation period rules after selection.
• Specific candidates who apply for reserved quotas must have the required documentation to prove eligibility.
